Kununurra and Lake Argyle

We set up for few nights at the caravan park at Kunuurra after finishing the Gibb.  Then set about washing an dcleaning everything.  And I mean everything, it was all covered in a grotty red dust.  So day one wasn’t fun.  But we got it done!!  We caught up with the Richards again and Sam cooked us a delicious dinner.

We took the kids to Zebra Rocks Gallery.  They are these crazy rocks that are mined and are stripey.  They make jewellery and lots of other things with it.  We had a very yummy mango smoothy for asfernoon tea.  Then we went to feed the fish at the river.  Funniest things was this resident dog.  He gpot in and swam with the fish then sat up just watching them, apparently he does this all day every day but never eats them, crazy dog.  Was hilarious! We also went and had a look at the Ivanhoe Crossing.

The next day we packed up and headed for Lake Argyle but had to stop at the Hoochery Distillery on the way.  Mark and Charlotte did a tour, Jake and I hung out and waited for them.  After Mark had a few tasters we drove onto Lake Argyle.

At Lake Argyle we met up with the Hardfurms again.  Kids are loving having  other kids to hang out with but we aren’t exactly getting a lot of school done, oops!  Whilst at Lake Argyle we had planned on doing the cruise, but it ended up being to expensive and we thought we’d be doing a few cruise in the Territory.
We went to the bar in the afternoon and listened to some live music by a guy called Fingers.  Mark thoguth he was great and sounded a lot like Xavier Rudd.

The next day we went and had a look around the old homestead museum.  A very quaint small museum with lots of information about the Durack family who farmed the area in the early days.  We also drove around and had a better look at the Lake.  It certainly is an impressive man made dam.  The vast amount of water is incredible.  We also had a very cool but picturesque swim in the infinity pool at the caravan park.

And that is the last entry for Western Australia.  Back into the Northern Territory for us.  We really enjoyed WA, its a pretty unique place.  There are some of the most spectacularly beautiful spots in all of Australia in this one state, there's just a lot of nothing in between, and its pretty windy!
