Geraldton Part Two

So Part two, well we are still here, still working and going to school.  And of course counting down the days or weeks until we get to go home for Christmas.  Oops, sorry that makes it sound like we aren't having a good time.  We are of course, you'll see that by the photos.  We just  miss the travelling life and living in the caravan when your stopped and working gets a little tiresome. Its lucky that we have had good friends and jobs otherwise it wouldn't have been as enjoyable.  Basically we balance our life during the week with working, school and me going to the gym.  Then on weekends we do the usual jobs like washing and groceries and then try to do something for fun.  The kids are loving having their mates around at the van park, so much so we've had a few letters of noise complaints, about the kids not the adults! The kids are loving school and enjoying the uniqueness of the school they are going to.  They have both made a few good friends and are happy there.  Here's a few snap shots of what the kids have been up to.

Just down the road their is a really pretty light house.  I finally pulled my finger out one day and walk around their too it.  This is a good photo of it, the bottom parts not quite so photogenic!

Mark and I took a few of the kids over to the beach for a BBQ and a swim.  So nice when the wind stops and the sun comes out.

The kids do the usual and are swimming like ducks.  Am still trying to teach Jake to do correct freestyle, but he continues to do his 'Jake" style!!  It is so nice to be in a warm place and see the kids loving the water.

Mark took the kids to the car show and the girls had their photo in the local paper.  Jake was their but of course he declined to have his picture taken!!

So I am ready to announce that I have never been to the speed way.  Now I didn't see a problem with that but the other guys did, apparently I was missing out on a good time.  This trip is all about new experiences so off we went to the speed way and monster trucks show.  Everyone was very excited, even I was.....well not really but I did pretend well!  In truth the kids and other adults had a great time.  I liked watching a few of the monster truck stunts and a bit of the racing but not all night of it!  It got cold and very noisy towards the end so Jake and I retired to the car where I proceeded to read my book, ahhh much nicer!!  Now I do love to drive fast and I get the thrill of car racing, if I was in the actual car, otherwise its definitely not for me!

Charlotte has a lovely teacher this year for grade 3.  Her teacher has a farm and they breed horses.  Now I think by now everyone knows how horse made my daughter is, and she was lucky enough to be invited out to the farm.  She had a wonderful time patting the horses and got to meet their two little baby foals.  It really was beautiful, and I love seeing the happy smiling face of my little girl.

Just across the road from the caravan park is Pages beach.  Its a great spot to pull the car up and set up for the arvo, as long as it not windy!

Its a nice ride along the foreshore and have done it a few times with the kids. They all seem to enjoy bike riding and  we usually have a picnic lunch of chip sandwiches!  At least we excercised before we eat the chips!  Theres also a small water park and we met up with the kids school friends there.

We actually left Geraldton one weekend and drove out to Ellendale pools.  We stopped at a windy farm on the way.  Who'd have thought it, heh, a wind farm in Geraldton!!  The we had a really fun day at the pools swimming around and jumping off the rope swing.  We had a BBQ lunch, us and our friend the flies!!

And another beach day, makes us look like we spend a bit of time here.  Not much else to do on the weekends!  This day we went down to the main beach and had a great time swimming out and jumping off the pontoon.

A couple of cute photos of the kids.

first time it was actually nice enough to sit outside and eat.

Mark doing his Daddy day care at Bunnings whilst Bell and I were at the gym and Mart was at work.

Jake and his mate Cruz.

Big news for Gero, a Navy boat had come to town.  Now I was being a party pooper again and didn't want to go.  But I got guilted into going, as it was a family day!  Well it certainly was an experience, we had to line up for what seemed like hours.  Most of Gero had turned up to see the boat.  So it meant long lines to the bus then long lines to the boat!!  The boat itself was pretty interesting but certainly not worth the waiting and waiting in line we had to do.  Lesson learnt there, listen to the party pooper!!

Its Canola season, so the paddocks near Gero are full of pretty yellow flowers.  We took the kids on day and helped our self to a farmers paddock to take a few shots.

And here's the typical Christmas photo with Santa.  The kids are super excited about the festive season and cant wait to see everyone in Tassie.  They ended up having a great year at school.  Our little smarty pants Charlotte spent one day a week doing a accelerated class for the Talented and Gifted kids and then got the Junior citizenship award at the school.  We are pretty proud of her.  Jake has come a long way with his school work and has done really well adapting to going up a grade half way through the year.  So that's pretty much it for the second blog on Gero, sorry its not too exciting.  Plus I'm writing it months later as I have been a little slack!!
