Leaving the Mainland

The big day arrived, our trip was coming to an end. The final chapter of Travelling Long after four very interesting adventurous years of a very different kind of life. We weren't really sure how we were feeling.  Excitement at going home and having a house but nerves as to how we'd feel after travelling for so long.
My Aunty Jill, cousin Felicity and fiancée Chris met us near the boat for a final farewell.  Was lovely to have people come and see us off.  A good chance to have one last catch up with our Melbourne family before crossing the sea.

Then it was time to drag the caravan one last time onto the boat.  I'm always nervous driving such a big thing onto the boat.  However as per usual Mark did a great job and all went well.  We settled into our cabin and then went and waved a fond farewell to the mainland of Australia.

We were up very early the next morning to see the arrival to Tasmania.  Tassie put on a special beautiful sunrise just for us as we made our way in.  My Mum and Dad were there on the shore yelling and welcoming us home.  We felt very loved and made me a little teary.  We were home.....ready to start the next chapter in our lives.  Time for these travellers to put down roots for a while and see how the settled life suits us.

Its been an amazing adventure, one I'm sure we'll look back on for many many years.  Its been a time of fun, exploration, love and personal growth.  We, as a family have learnt so much and spent so much time together, time with our young children that we normally would never have had. We have been to new places and seen so many new and amazing things. We met some of the most fun, crazy and wonderful people, friends for life most of them I'm sure! We will be forever grateful that we had the opportunity to go on this adventure.  We've had the time of our lives :)
